It’s the 100th anniversary of the national park system in the U.S. and all national parks have free admission all or part of this week. Go enjoy the outdoors some and the nice weather (if you have it). Historical parks, like Jamestown here in Virginia, and some battlefields are included. I am not much of a battle person, I am more interested in the home front during wars, but I’ve been to several battlefields and they are fascinating. They have information about the battle, usually a movie about it and a drive through the area with plaques and memorials to see. Like I said, I’m not into troop movements, but the battlefields that I’ve been to have made it super interesting. Go to http://www.nationalparks.org to find a park near you and give it a go. National parks week is from the 16th through the 24th , so enjoy!
