I told you a while back that my poor husband has discovered that he’s lactose intolerant. I went vegan the same day he came home and told me that. It’s been 2 weeks and I’ve lost 4 pounds already. I’m fixing to start exercising again (as soon as I get the exercise DVD’s I ordered) and I’m hoping that, between the two, it’ll help me lose weight faster. Yes, I ordered exercise DVD’s. I’m going to cancel the gym membership and do my exercising at home. Even with the steep price of the DVD’s, it’s cheaper than a single month of the family plan at the YMCA. And the DVD’s take me from beginner to really advanced. There is a robust support community as well, so that should help.
Vegan is easier than I thought it would be. After a couple of days not eating it, I am over the cheese and chocolate addiction. There are vegan alternatives to butter that taste right so I can still have popcorn (air-popped) with my movie some evenings. I made vegan Rice Crispy treats yesterday for the kids, too. I know, not terribly diet friendly, but they were bugging me for them – I promise not to eat the whole pan! Anyway, vegan is good. I don’t feel guilty all the time anymore about eating dairy while the poor cows suffer. Clear conscience for me!
I can see doing this for the rest of my life.
I think when many people actually try veganism, they find that it’s much easier than it sounds ! I know I certainly did anyway😊
