So, I read a book called The Quarter-Acre Farm recently. It was wonderful. In it, the author decides to grow the majority of her own food for the year. It is the story of her triumphs and failures in creating a home farm. It is funny and inspiring. After reading it I wanted to start a large garden and get chickens. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to start a garden. There are some practical tips as well as a good dose of humor and her philosophy. I want to create a garden big enough to supply my family with veggies for at least the growing seasons. I am limited on available space but I want to give it a try after reading this wonderful book.
